01. After-Surgery Position
1. For one week following surgery, sleep while facing the ceiling.
2. After the procedure, it is best to keep your head elevated higher than your hear while sleeping.
02. Post Surgery Diet
1. You may resume a normal diet, but please avoid very spicy or strongly seasoned foods.
03. Swelling Care
1. For the first 2–3 days after surgery, swelling and bruising will gradually worsen. From around 2–4 weeks, they will slowly subside, although this varies from person to person.
2. Including the day of surgery, apply cold compresses until day 3, then switch to warm compresses afterward. (Compress is provided by the clinic.)
– Cold compress: Use the cold pack after storing it in the freezer.
- Warm compress: Heat in the microwave for 15–20 seconds. (Do not overheat—there is a risk of bursting.)
- Due to temporary numbness in the treated area, you may not feel heat correctly, increasing the risk of burns.
Always check the temperature with your hand before applying.
04. Incision & Wound Care
1. Rubbing your eyes forcefully is not recommended during the recovery period.
2. Applying pressure to the eyes/ strain on eyes may cause bleeding, so please be cautious.
3. Due to the surgical incision through the conjunctiva, tear secretion may temporarily increase and slight blood-tinged discharge may occur. This is a normal part of recovery, and you may use the prescribed eye drops as directed.
05. Showering & Washing
1. Until the under eye tape has been removed, wipe the face with a damp towel avoiding the surgical area.
2. You may wash your face on day 3-4 post-op, after the tape has been removed.
– When washing the face, do not heavily rub the eye area, but be gentle.
-You may apply eye makeup 2 weeks after surgery. When removing your eye makeup, be careful to not to apply too much pressure to the eyes.
3. You should wait for one month before receiving eyelash extensions or eyeline semi-color tattooing.
4. You can use contact lenses 1month after surgery.
5.Going to the sauna is prohibited for one month following the surgery. (exposure to infection)
6. When washing your hair, wash with your head pulled back to make sure the eyes does not come in contact with the water.
7. Shower (excluding the eye area) can be done on the day of the surgery
6)Exercise
Return to daily activities is possible immediately after surgery. Light exercise is possible 2-3 weeks after surgery and vigorous exercise is possible 1 month after surgery.
7)Medication
1. Following surgery, take the prescribed medication 30 minutes after your first meal. Make sure to regularly take the medication as prescribed. If you experience diarrhea or an allergic reaction following the use of medication, please contact the hospital.
2. Do not take aspirin or vitamin E for 1 week following the surgery, as they can cause bleeding.
8) Alcohol and Smoking
1. Avoid alcohol and smoking for 1 month after surgery. It can worsen bleeding, wound healing, and infection risk.
9) Recovery / Progress
1. The white part of the eye may swell, conjunctival edema, but this will not affect your eyesight, so you do not have to worry.
2. Bruising, red eyes, and conjunctival edema can last for 2-3 weeks.
3. It will take about 6 months for the eyes to fully settle into its final form.
4. Following surgery, you may experience brightness in the eyes or dry eyes causing them to water. Over time these side effects will improve.
5. The area around the lower eyelid may feel numb but will gradually improve over a few months.
6. The surgery is performed through the conjunctiva, it is possible that pooled blood may be released mixed with tears during the after-surgery recovery. This is not a form of bleeding, so there is no need to worry.
7. The undereye skin may feel hard, however from 3-4 months it will slowly become softer and improve.
8. You may feel as though there is an eyelash or dust inside the eye, due to the dissolving threads for 1~2 weeks.
