What is a Tummy Tuck?

A tummy tuck (Abdominoplasty) is a surgery that creates a slim, tight and beautiful waist line by removing excess fat and skin, that has been stretched out due to sudden weight loss or pregnancy, and by tightening widened abdominal muscles. Unlike other areas, it is important with the abdominoplasty to remove a precise amount of fat, in a balanced manner, starting from the front of the stomach, to the sides, continuing to the back line. MINE Plastic Surgery achieves more accurate results by performing a balanced liposuction and skin resection at the same time.

MINE Surgery Advantages

Advantage 1.

02

Delicately exfoliate the upper layer of the scarpa fascia that saves the blood vessels, nerves and supporting tissue.

Conventional surgery, which removed the entire fat layer, damaged the nerves and blood vessels under the scarpa fascia, leading to a possibility of discharge and hypesthesia, along with a higher risk of skin necrosis. With MINE’s abdominoplasty, damage to the vessels and lymphatic vessels, deep inside the fat layer, are minimized through delicate detachment.

Advantage 2.

03

Only exfoliate the areas that are necessary from the middle where the Rectus Abdominis is located, while preserving the outer nerves and vessels.

Traditionally, after removing the loosened abdominal fat, the entire abdomen was exfoliate during suturing. During this process, the nerves and vessels are detached, which led to many side effects such as skin necrosis in the suturing  area, hypesthesia, and others. With MINE’s abdominoplasty, only the necessary areas are exfoliate from the middle where the Rectus Abdominis is located, therefore significantly lowering the risk of side effects.

Advantage 3.

04

Rectus Muscle Corset.

During the abdominoplasty at MINE, the rectus muscles are tightly tied together resulting in an internal corset.

Advantage 4.

05
06

Painless! Progressive Tension Sutures wihtout Pains  in Tummy Tuck / Quilting sutures

Following the detachment, while the upper abdomen is pulled down and sutured to the lower abdomen, the surgery is completed stitch by stitch making sure that there is no spacing between, similar to quilting. By making sure there are no spaces and lifted areas, pooling of discharge is minimized, and the tension in the incision line that is created during conventional surgery, where the upper and lower abdomen meet, is dispersed, also minimizing the injury.

Management System Following Lipsuction

01

High Frequency Therapy (Radio Frequency)

Fat is decomposed and the area deep inside the skin is stimulated to increase skin elasticity and to generate collagen and elastin. Through more than 100,000 Hz of alternating current, collagen synthesis is promoted and blood flow is increased while producing fat burning effects, to smooth out sagging skin.

04

Dietary Nutrition Counselling

Dietary nutrition counseling will occur with a professional counselor 1:1, tailored to each individual. With a concrete plan of action, through dietary regulation, one will see results in weight loss and nutritional management.

02

Ender-Plus (Endermologie)

A roller is used to pick up and release the skin in a repetitive process loosening up clumped up fat, and promoting blood and lymph circulation to break down the fat. This procedure helps to remove firm cellulite that is otherwise difficult to reduce with other methods of stimulation.

05

1:1 tailored prescription

Through consultation with the doctor, diet pills will be prescribed. Later, a thorough follow up will proceed related to any symptoms.

03

Carboxy Therapy

A very thin needle is inserted into the subcutaneous fat layer and carbon dioxide is injected, which is harmless to the body. This is done because an optimal environment for burning fat is created with the increase of oxygen in the fat layer. As the fat is burned off, elasticity of the skin is increased.

06

Teas to reduce swelling

pumpkin, wolfiporia extensa, alisma canaliculatum, milkvetch root, licorice, chojicha, omija

Tummy Tuck

Q & A

Q.1 Will the skin continue to be lumpy following the surgery ?

The skin will become hard 5-7 days following the surgery, but this is natural. During this time, the areas that arehard and the areas that are softer are more distinguishable, resulting in a lumpy appearance. The area will gradually get smoother after about a month.

Q.2 How long will I need to wear compression clothing ?

It is beneficial to wear the compression clothing consistently following surgery.

The compression clothing is worn starting within a week following the surgery and for about one month after that. After the clothing is first worn, it is consistently worn for 2 weeks.  Following that, for 2 weeks, it is beneficial towear the clothing for a minimum of 12 hours a day for more satisfying results.

Q.3 Following the surgery, the abdominal area has become hard and more swollen. Why is that ?

The area may become harder for 1-2 months following the surgery. As time passes, the area will improve naturally, but this process may be quickened through high frequency procedures. Following, hardening and swelling in the areaare normal side effects, therefore the final results are able to be seen approximately 1-2 months following liposuction.

Q. 4 Is scarring noticeable following surgery ?

Even if scarring occurs, the incision and sutures are underneath the underwear line,  therefore you do not need toworry as the scarring would be unnoticeable during normal activities.
